Pamela Anderson has been making headlines for her no-makeup look. But despite praises, some raised their brows after she gave up on cosmetic products.
Among Hollywood stars flaunting their full makeup glow, Anderson opted to show her natural beauty by showing up at events bare-faced.
Regarding the reason she ditched makeup, International The News quoted, "It just happened to be this silly thing of being at Paris Fashion Week and me saying, ‘I’m not going to sit in a makeup chair for three hours. I’m going to the Louvre.’"
"Then I thought, ‘Who am I competing with?’ I was appreciating it as this girl who lives on Vancouver Island that got plopped into these glamorous clothes [...] And I felt like this little freckle-faced kid with a big, beautiful Vivienne Westwood hat on," added "Scary Movie 3" star.
Although she doesn't use makeup products, the 57-year-old "Baywatch" star puts pride in her skincare routine by only using serum, moisturizer, and moisturizing lip balm, all products come from her skincare brand, Sonsie.
In a tutorial video she uploaded on Instagram, Anderson aims to spread "self-care" and "self-love" through her skincare line.
The post amassed over 670,000 likes and garnered various reactions. Unfortunately, the majority were critical, pointing out that she "did not age well" due to her visible wrinkles and fine lines in her late 50s.
She also earned comments, such as, "Sucks to get old, huh," "That type skin doesn't hold up well," and, "That heavy partying aged her extra 10 years."
Contrary to this criticism, there are those who also left uplifting messages.
"It's sad that people feel compelled to criticize a fifty-six-year-old woman for aging, a sign of profoundly sick society," said one commenter.
